Me and Mine

My name is sean McCarney; I’m a (ahem) forty something father of a beautiful three year old girl. We live near Salisbury in the UK, and I’m a practising Catholic married to a beautiful lady who is not a Catholic and this leads to some challenges as I try to bring my little girl up in the faith.  I’m also an air traffic controller, Deanery Magazine Editor, Lector, Primary School Governor and, I think that’s it!  This blog chronicles my life……

    Hi Sean,

Just listening to your latest podcast episode as I write this – what can I say but ‘Wow’! You have a great style. Capt Jeff Neilson of the Catholic Weekend podcast sent me your details as I’m another UK based Catholic podcaster. I had no idea there was another!

Apart from the podcast, you and I share many things in common as I too have a daughter called Katie (spelt differently to your daughter) and my wife is not a Catholic, she’s Presbyterian. I also have three more kids but that’s another story.

I wish you well with the podcast and please drop me a line.

    God Bless, Ian

    • Hi Ian, thank you so much for your feedback and your kind words – I listen to and really enjoy your podcast ‘The Catholic Laboratory Podcast’. I have them all on my iPod and I’m working through them one-by-one. I especially enjoyed ‘Population, Population, Population, and ‘Dear Sir David Attenborough’ – wonderful stuff and very topical. It’s an amazing resource for Catholics fighting the good fight in a world where people’s perception of the Church’s approach to knowledge and science is so at odds with the historical and current reality.

I’ll drop you an email and chat further. Best wishes, Sean

Great to hear from you Sean – funny how a pilot led me to an air traffic controller … surely it should have been the other way around. Anyway, I look forward to hearing from you when you’re free. It would be good to build a UK presence.

        God Bless, Ian
